Since 1899, Miele has been recognized as the elite manufacturer of the highest quality appliances available in the world. During the late 1800's German dairy farmers had experienced difficulty in using the basic butter churn supplied by other European manufactures. In 1899, Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann collaborated to design and build a more effective and easier to use butter churn. Devoted to excellence, Miele and Zinkann mark their first butter churn with a German slogan still used by Miele today: "Immer Besser" meaning "Forever Better". From the great success of the Miele Butter Churn, came their first appliance, the Miele Washing Machine.

Today, Miele offers a wide variety of luxury home appliances. Miele remains a family-owned company, and proudly designs, engineers and builds their own appliances in each of their seven German factories.
